Just the Facts

All services have women serving. In the past, it wasn't uncommon for women veterans to have been virtually invisible after service. VA healthcare was geared towards their male counterparts, and through the work of veteran service organizations like the DAV, this oversight is continually being corrected. Recognition of the challenges of serving as a female in the military have been slow coming, but things are changing. View some of the information and challenges here. The DAV Stands Up for Women Veterans and will continue to addresses those challenges at the VA and in future legislation.
